Our Story
Since 1999, North Langley Basketball Association has provided recreational basketball opportunities for young athletes throughout Langley and the surrounding communities.
Over the years, thousands of players have worn an NLBA jersey. Some have gone on to play at higher levels. Others simply carry with them the friendships, confidence, and lessons they gained through the game.
Whatever path they take, we hope basketball remains a positive part of their story.

On the court in Langley
Real players. Real teams. One community.
Every season, North Langley athletes pull on the jersey, line up with their teammates, and get to work. Behind every team are coaches, families, and volunteers who make the game possible — and who keep our community growing year after year.
Our Mission
To provide a fun, safe, and challenging basketball experience that helps young athletes develop skills, confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love of sport.
Our Vision
We believe the lessons learned through basketball can have an impact far beyond the game itself.
Our goal is to foster a community where young athletes are encouraged to grow, challenged to improve, and given opportunities to contribute both on and off the court.
The lessons learned through teamwork, perseverance, responsibility, and respect often extend far beyond the game itself.
Our Values
Every Athlete Matters
This is the heart of our league. We believe every young athlete deserves the opportunity to participate, contribute, and grow. Our commitment to Fair Play reflects this belief by providing equal playing time through the same number of shifts during each game. We believe development happens through participation, and that every player benefits from being actively involved.
Development First
Success isn't measured only by wins and losses. We strive to create an environment where athletes are appropriately challenged, continue developing their skills, and build confidence through each season. For some athletes, that means learning the fundamentals. For others, it may mean being approved to play in an older age division when it's in the player's best developmental interest. Our goal is always the same: helping every athlete continue to grow.
Character Counts
We believe how we compete matters just as much as the outcome. Basketball provides opportunities to learn perseverance, humility, responsibility, leadership, teamwork, and respect. These lessons often extend far beyond the game itself.
Community
NLBA is a volunteer-run league. Our coaches, referees, parents, athletes, and volunteers all contribute to the culture of our organization. The culture of a league is shaped by everyone who participates in it.
Belonging
Whether you're stepping onto the court for the first time or entering your final season, we want every player and family to feel welcomed, encouraged, and valued. Basketball is the reason we come together. Community is what keeps us coming back.
